Abstract
As latest technology being fast developing, the using of internet has become more and more convenient changing those traditional products gradually. It has also changed the social network of the patient which once traditionally requires face-to-face support from the society and now changes to online supporting through online networking without restriction. One can anonymously express his or her emotions in the group, share information or make friends. Through studies and hypothesis on self-defining theory, this research presumes online supporting groups make patients or pregnant women reach the level of satisfaction psychologically. They let those in need but not able to join the face-to-face supporting groups have the same opportunities to enhance one’s sense of happiness and the positive power against pressure through internet with unlimited time and space and interacting with the society.

This study collects information through internet survey with sampling of patients with chronic disease(e.g. cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure…etc) and pregnant women who use online supporting groups. The final result shows that social support plays a significant positive effect on the need satisfaction level. Psycological need satisfaction reaching the level of satisfaction will also positively impact on one’s dignity and his or her devotion to the society while effectively decrease one’s anxiety. Therefore, the building up of the online supporting groups and the heat among the social network should gain more attention.
