Abstract
Base on social learning theory and self-consistency theory, the study examined the effects of ethical leadership and global self-esteem on follower counterproductive work behavior(CWB), and examined a moderating role of followers’ global self-esteem between ethical leadership and CWB. Using an anonymous questionnaire survey, the sample was comprised of 353 employees working in different industries in Taiwan. Results from a field study revealed that ethical leadership and global self-esteem are negatively related to follower CWB organizational(CWBO) and CWB personal(CWBP). We found that the relationships between ethical leadership and CWB are not moderated by followers’ global self-esteem.
