Abstract
Due to the fact that family business is a primary contributor to the economic, the continuity of the family business becomes an important issue. This paper aims to study the key factors affecting the succession commitment in Taiwan. This study adopts qualitative approach through interviewing with five successors from the next generation of the family business, as well as secondary data collection to understand the relationship between succession commitment and successor -related factors. The findings indicate that the personal factor and intra-family relationship factor has a stronger influence on succession commitment. On the other hand, organizational factor and environmental factor do not show a direct influence on succession commitment. Based on these findings, suggestion and implications are offered at the end.
