Abstract |
This study focuses on the stage before full family business succession: The partial succession stage, or the partnership stage as named in past literatures. In this stage, both predecessor and successor have managerial and operational power within the company. This is common among Asian family businesses, but surprisingly, this topic is seldom discussed. The goal was to see if this stage of succession was important to the business, and if so, how in detail. Single case study method was implemented. Findings included the enhancement of organizational ambidexterity with three detailed innovations, gender equity, better relationships with stewards, and pushing the company to globalization. In the last chapter, conclusions, practical and theoretical implications, limitations and future research suggestions were made. |
