本研究採用系統思考方法探討遠東集團企業多角化的關鍵成功環路。首先,藉由文獻廣泛地蒐集遠東集團的經營狀況,以及徐有庠、徐旭東父子的經營思維與專訪資料,然後採用系統思考法來探討遠東集團各類多角化策略的關鍵成功環路,藉此了解該集團多角化策略的發展歷程、形成原因與效益。
經分析推論後,本研究發現,遠東集團多角化策略的成功關鍵在於先後、交互運用垂直多角化、相關多角化及非相關多角化等策略,藉此達到既開創又守成的局面。在這過程中,銀行融資、財務資源及資金分配是多角化管理的核心。對於從事多角化的企業來說,本研究結果具有重要的理論與實務意涵。
Abstract
This study applies the systems thinking approach to explore the key success loops of Far Eastern Group’s diversification strategy. By categorizing the diversification into three kinds of vertical, related, and unrelated strategies, the study aims to probe the causes, consequences, and critical success factors of a conglomerate’s diversification strategy.
The research results based on the secondary-data analyses and the induction from various literature show that the sequential and cross applications of the three kinds of diversification strategies are the key of Far Eastern Group’s diversification, in which bank financing, financial resources, and the cash flow hold the central role in the diversification process. Implications for theories and practices, as well as the future directions, are discussed.
