本研究目的是先利用光纖的可變性以及熔燒式拉伸的可朔性模擬1X2單模光纖耦合器並以理論進行分析,以此為基礎出發,設計出各類型的光纖耦合器。為了分析所設計的耦合器,本論文使用Rsoft光學軟體中三維有限差分時域法進行數值模擬分析,並整合對稱與非對稱型定向耦合器的模擬結果。首先制定出全部光纖耦合器可變動因素,再進一步模擬各參數對於耦合器的影響(耦合效率、半高寬、耦光波長等),並能夠設計出在各耦光波長,能夠選定半高寬、耦合效率的耦合器。我們改變光纖纖核與纖衣的折射率差,設計出能在1.6um波長以後傳遞的耦合器,最後以2um波長耦合器作為一個例子,達到調變耦光波長、半高寬的功能。
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to design a 1 × 2 single-mode fiber coupler that based on the variability of fibers, fusing process and to analyze it theoretically. We design the various couplers with this conception. In order to analyze the designed couplers, we use the three-dimensional Finite-Difference Time-Domain (3D-FDTD) method to perform the simulation with Optical Simulation Software, Rsoft and integrate the results of symmetric and asymmetric directional couplers. First we formulate all factors of fiber couplers and then simulate the influence of each parameter on couplers (coupling efficiency, full width at half maximum, coupling wavelength, etc.) Therefore, it is possible to design couplers which can select FWHM and coupling efficiency at each coupling wavelength. We transform the difference between the refractive index of fiber's core with cladding, wherefore design that can transmit above the 1.6um wavelength. Finally, the coupling wavelength and spectral bandwidth can be tuned as an example for couplers of 2um wavelength.
