管風琴與鋼琴相較之下,擁有更為廣闊的音域、更豐富的音色,巴赫、布克斯特胡德等作曲大師都曾為管風琴創作許多值得研究的經典作品。十九世紀時,歐洲開始復興巴赫音樂,在眾多作曲家的努力之下,將管風琴作品改由鋼琴演奏,演奏效果令人驚豔,讓這些崇高作品漸漸被聽眾熟知,其中巴赫的《D小調觸技曲與賦格》(Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565)現今已成為舉世聞名的經典作品。
本文探討的內容除前言以及結語之外,共分為三大部分論述,第一部分介紹管風琴的樂器構造以及相關的鋼琴改編作品;第二部分則藉由布梭尼的生長歷程,探究其巴赫改編曲的動機與內涵;第三部分將以《D小調觸技曲與賦格》為例,探討布梭尼管風琴的改編技法,並透過樂曲分析,一窺布梭尼如何在鋼琴上重現這些偉大作品。
Abstract
Compared with piano, the organ has the wider register and more colorful sonority. J. S. Bach, Buxtehude and other composers had written many organ works worthy to study. In the nineteenth century of Europe, many composers began to revive Bach’s music by adapting the organ’s works for piano playing, so these sublime repertoires became more and more well-known. Today, among the numerous transcriptions, Bach-Busoni Toccata and Fugue BWV 565 is one of the most often performed pieces.
There are three main chapters besides the preface and conclusion in this report. The first chapter introduces the construction of organ and piano transcriptions originated from organ pieces; the second chapter starts with the musical development of Busoni, looking for the motivation and inspiration of these works. The final chapter will focus on Bach-Busoni Toccata and Fugue BWV565 exploring Busoni’s organ transcribed techniques, and then offers detailed analytical discussion to understand how to reproduce these masterpieces on the piano.
