亨利．魏歐當（Henri Vieuxtemps, 1820- 1881）是比利時的小提琴家、中提琴家與作曲家，其在一八六○年寫下了《中提琴奏鳴曲，作品36》，並提獻給漢諾瓦國王（Georg V, 1819- 1878)。一八六一年開始在英國與法國首演，並多次與不同的鋼琴家演出，代表著此首奏鳴曲對魏歐當來說，是相當重要的一個作品。
　　本文以探討魏歐當《中提琴奏鳴曲，作品36》作品為主，內容包含魏歐當的簡略生平，《中提琴奏鳴曲，作品36》之創作背景以及樂曲分析，並針對《中提琴奏鳴曲，作品36》中演奏技巧較困難的片段提出幾首練習曲當作預備練習。藉由此研究中的練習方案，希望能幫助有意願演奏魏歐當《中提琴奏鳴曲，作品36》的人，更能做足準備去了解作品中的技巧。

Herni Vieuxtemps was a Belgian violinst, violist, and composer. Vieuxtemps composed his Sonata for Viola and Piano, Op. 36 in 1860. The work is dedicated to King Georg V. Since its premiere in 1861, Vieuxtemps, with various pianists, gave many performances of this viola sonata throughout England and France.
This essay consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents a brief discussion of Vieuxtemps’s life, the tradition of Franco-Belgian violin school, and the Viola Sonata’s compositional background. The second chapter is an analysis of the work. The third chapter presents plans of prepatory exercises of technical passages. The fourth chapter is the conclusion.
