Reynold and Wooder(2003)提出了均衡的概念來描述以及分析Ebay和Yahoo! 奇摩拍賣的購買價拍賣模式中買方的均衡策略。作者得到當買者是風險中立時，只要購買價不要太低，則Ebay和Yahoo! 奇摩的購買價拍賣其實是和英式拍賣是收入均等的。

本文沿用他們的的分析過程，但是只探討在Ebay的購買價拍賣模式中，賣方加入了一個底價，也就是保留價格的情況下，來分析當兩人同時進入拍賣場之情況中所作的決策，並討論賣方能否從中找出一個適合的底價，即門檻的價值。
