本研究目的為探討台灣海峽南部海域,濁水溪、九龍江、韓江與珠江口外大陸棚的站位表層沉積物中,底棲性有孔蟲屬的組合與分佈,並運用統計方法分析底棲性有孔蟲的分佈與環境之間的關係。底棲性有孔蟲絕對豐度與粗顆粒及總有機碳含量的關係並不顯著,需進一步探討其他可能影響底棲性有孔蟲豐度的原因。根據底棲性有孔蟲群聚組成,台灣海峽南部海域大陸棚表層沉積物可分為四個群聚,A群落僅一個站位,位於台灣灘,主要屬為Pararotalia spp.;B群落包含了大部分台灣海峽南部海域中段的站位,主要屬為Textularia spp.與Quinqueloculina spp.;幾乎所有近河口站位集中在C群落,主要屬為Cibicides spp.、Ammonia spp.及Quinqueloculina spp.;D群落包含幾乎所有位於彰雲沙脊的站位,主要屬為Quinqueloculina spp.、Cibicides spp.、Ammonia spp.與Nonion spp.。由典型相關分析結果顯示,與細顆粒、總有機碳含量及溫度呈正相關的屬為Heterolepa spp.、Nonion spp.與Rotalia spp.;與細顆粒、總有機碳含量及溫度呈負相關的屬為Pararotalia spp.與Textularia spp.;與鹽度及水深呈負相關的屬為Ammonia spp.、Elphidium spp.、Quinqueloculina spp.與Triloculina spp.。
Abstract
The main objectives in this study are to investigate benthic foraminiferal species composition and their spatial distribution in the surface sediments off the Zhuoshui River, Jiulongjiang River, Hanjiang River and Pearl River in the southern Taiwan Strait. Total organic carbon (TOC) and coarse fractions in the sediments seem not to be the main factor affecting benthic foraminifera concentrations. Cluster analysis based on foraminiferal relative abundances divides the sampling stations into four assemblages. Assemblage A, which is represented by Pararotalia spp., includes only one station at Taiwan Bank. Assemblage B, which is represented by Textularia spp. and Quinqueloculina spp., includes almost all stations in the middle of the southern Taiwan strait. Assemblage C, which is represented by Cibicides spp., Ammonia spp. and Quinqueloculina spp., includes all stations near estuaries. Assemblage D, which is represented by Quinqueloculina spp., Cibicides spp., Ammonia spp. and Nonion spp., includes almost all stations at the Changyun sand ridge. According to the Canonical Correlation Analysis, the distribution of Heterolepa spp., Nonion spp. and Rotalia spp. is related with mud fraction, TOC and temperature. The distribution of Pararotalia spp. and Textularia spp. however, is negatively related with mud fraction, TOC and temperature. The distribution of Ammonia spp., Elphidium spp., Quinqueloculina spp. and Triloculina spp. is negatively related with salinity and depth.
