Abstract
Research on mindfulness have soared in recent years. Yet, there is limited research on the relationship between mindfulness and decision quality. This study examined daily state mindfulness as a predictor of daily decision quality. A ten day daily diary study was conducted based on a sample of 59 employees from Mongolia and Taiwan. Multilevel modeling was used to test for hypotheses. Results of the analyses showed that being mindful at the present moment was positively related to daily decision quality, and the relationship between the two was moderated by the decision maker’s perceived organizational support. Simple slope analysis showed that the positive relationship between state mindfulness and decision quality was stronger when perceived organizational support was higher rather than lower.
