Abstract
This thesis is dedicated to wealth transition. The study is based on analyzing existing literature to outline major problems in family business research and wealth succession that have been well-documented and investigated. In order to compare patterns of wealth transfer in various regions of the world and discover primary differences between business succession processes, this research utilizes case studies using regional examples from the United States (case studies of Wal-Mart and Cargill), the European Union (case studies of Lego Group, Henkel and Wallenberg family), and Taiwan (case studies of Formosa Plastics Group and Evergreen Group). The study concludes with analyzing patterns of wealth succession in the three regions and suggests a potential path to successful wealth transfer.
