台灣有許多的企業,像是台積電、宏碁、台達電等等,因時常在電視或報章雜誌曝光,屬於一般我們熟知的企業;而台灣主要以中小企業為主,在所有企業當中占97%,裡頭有許多企業的規模雖然不大,但是企業本身的體質良好,坐擁利基市場的前幾名的位置,並且擁有優異的獲利空間以及良好的研發創新能力等等。而這些企業面臨兩次的金融海嘯,在許多大企業紛紛倒下之際,仍然屹立不搖,甚至不受影響,但因為媒體曝光度和知名度較低,不為一般社會大眾所知,我們稱這些企業為台灣的「隱形冠軍」。

台灣的觀賞魚產業在國際間表現亮眼,屢屢獲得許多國際獎項,因此本研究選定台灣的觀賞魚產業中的J公司,作為此次研究隱形冠軍的個案公司。透過個案分析的方法,探討J公司在面對亞洲區的中國、東南亞等國家的崛起,如何在激烈競爭的產業中,佔有一席之地;以資源基礎觀點,剖析J公司在每個不同的發展階段,如何運用自身的資源能力,一步一步去建構起下一個階段的資源能力;最後,J公司所有累積的資源通過「稀少、有價值、不可模仿、不可替代」的評估準則後,進行資源的組合,形成J公司的核心能耐,建立J公司的持續性競爭優勢。

本研究希望透過J公司的個案分析,描繪出台灣隱形冠軍資源能力的建構過程,以提供給未來其他台灣中小企業建構持續性競爭優勢之參考。
Abstract
Companies in Taiwan such as TSMC, Acer and Delta are known by society because of the high frequency of exposure on television, newspapers and magazines. However, Most companies in Taiwan are SME(small and medium enterprises), which occupy almost 97% of all companies. The scale of SME are small, but as we can see, SME have great essence, excellent profit margins, great research and innovation capabilities and stand stably on top positions in niche markets. Facing twice financial crisis in Taiwan, many large scale of companies have to quit the markets. On the other hand, some SME are unaffected under such circumstances. Due to the low degree of exposure and not being recognized by the society, we call some of SME as Hidden Champion.

Because of the well performance of Taiwan's ornamental fish industry, the study choose the benchmarking J company as Hidden Champion case study. By case study, to explore how J company take place in such highly competitive global circumstances. Through resource-based view, to understand how J company utilize its own resources in different stages of development, and how J company build up the next resource capabilities step by step. As the accumulated resources are 「rare、valuable、inimitable and irreplaceable」, the combination of these resources lead J company form its core competence and establish its sustainable competitive advantage.

The study on J company hope by describing the process of constructing Taiwan Hidden Champion resource capacity may provide the valuable reference for those SME who wants to build up its own sustained competitive advantage.
