摘要
葛拉斯為著名的極簡音樂代表作曲家,他與戲劇導演威爾森一起合作的歌劇《沙灘上的愛因斯坦》在首演時受到大眾的矚目。本文以葛拉斯和威爾森一起合作的歌劇《沙灘上的愛因斯坦》為主軸,探討葛拉斯的音樂風格與威爾森的戲劇創作概念,著重於此歌劇中的極簡音樂呈現方式和舞台場景的變化,進而更深入了解《沙灘上的愛因斯坦》中極簡音樂與戲劇空間的關聯和作品中欲傳達的涵義。
本論文除緒論與結論外,共分為三章。第一章論述葛拉斯的創作生涯,以葛拉斯的求學階段和工作經歷對其作品風格作一概論了解;第二章探討《沙灘上的愛因斯坦》的作品內容和威爾森的戲劇概念與創作手法;第三章著重在《沙灘上的愛因斯坦》中極簡音樂的呈現方式,探討葛拉斯的音樂特色,並以威爾森舞臺場景的設計,探討劇中戲劇空間與音樂的關聯。葛拉斯與威爾森都因為《沙灘上的愛因斯坦》享譽國際,此劇也被譽為是二十世紀後半表演藝術的里程碑,其重要性不言而喻。
Abstract
Abstract
The study explores Philip Glass’ s minimalist music in Einstein on the Beach. The aims of this research are to examine how investigate Robert Wilson’s theatre concepts and incorporates into the work, finding his influence on Glass.
The thesis consists of three chapters, an introduction and a conclusion. Chapter one provides a summary of Glass’ s biography in his creative career. The next chapter focuses on the contents of Einstein on the Beach, includes its background, texts, form, roles, music and judgment. This chapter will also discuss Wilson’s theatrical concept and creative expression. The third chapter explores how Glass implicates of minimalist music and space of theatre in Einstein on the Beach. The conclusion summarizes the findings of the study.
