自1950年毛澤東時代的「平等主義政策」偏重內陸發展，至1978年由鄧小平所倡導的「梯度推移政策」下進行改革開放，致沿海省區與內陸省區間因競爭優勢差異，逐步形成經濟發展不均和成為地區利益衝突等二者。為縮小區域經濟發展政策的差異下，各省採行地方分權化（decentralization）的策略。乃至江澤民時期提出「西部大開發政策」來縮小東、西部區域發展的差距。
本論文試圖在經濟發展過程中檢視雙元經濟（Dual economy）現象，探討產生貧富不均及傳統與現代二者的衝擊。評論在依賴理論（Dependency Theory）下，內陸省區普遍缺乏自主的現象和顯示出低度開發。因經濟發展不均所引發的不僅是經濟危機，人民對生活種種不滿的壓抑，會演變成政治危機。
本論文主轴在於達到下列目標的探討，擬從經濟發展指標、社會發展指標、體制變遷指標等研究起，本人試圖從多面向來瞭解區域經濟發展差異的原因、現況及問題所在。期獲得對大陸當前經濟形勢的判斷和展望。
本論文為達到研究目的，首先從實務統計數據上詳加研究分析，相當有助於吾人探究中國大陸於經濟制度上的變化與解釋區域間經濟發展的不同。最終本人試圖彙整出研究發現與研究建議，俾能提供我國政府在擬具大陸政策時的重要參考依據。另本文也提供臺商前往大陸發展策略和區位因素等建議的指南。

The thesis is want to see （dual economy）phenomenon in the process of economic development 。discuss about (the disparity between the rich and the poor). in the traditions and the modern both competitiveness。observed on (dependency Theory) below .in the interior provinces are general self-doubt phenomenon and display light development。The huge unbalanced economic development difference will cause not only economic crsis but also political crisis resulting from people's dissatisfaction on the decline of living standard。
In this thesis to make a study of goals。First of all ,from true affairs statistical data above detailed to study and analysis。It's helpful to me probe into institutional changes of China and to explain differences of economic development and structure between regions。Finally, I'm try to from make a study of economic development look into discover and suggest。can to provide our's government to draft Mainland China strategy in accordance with important to consult. This thesis can to provide Taiwan investment the development strategy and location factors suggest in China's guidebook.
