日本式經營管理與歐美式經營管理在文化、環境等時空背景下，有著截然不同之管理模式。在企業人事管理上，終生雇用制為一大特色。從江戶時代開始萌芽的終生雇用制開始，轉變為現今許多日本企業所採用的終生雇用制模式。終生雇用制之最大特色為終其一生只在一間企業服務，使日本歷經一段時期後，在許多領域取得世界第一的經濟強權；日本的職人制度也使得Made in Japan成為高品質的保障。
但在日本歷經長達失落的20年的外在環境改變，企業普遍成長衰退的負面情形，雖終生雇用制會增加企業的薪資負擔，為何至現在還是有許多企業仍採用終生雇用制?在景氣及外在環境變化激烈的情形下，日本企業在經營策略、管理模式上有何調整?還能夠維持長期以來的企業競爭力。如筆者從事的日本精密設備產業，日本早期電子業的生產技術與精密機械產業等相關都是從歐美國家的技術移轉而來，為何能在短期內從學習、模仿進而取代歐美企業成為全球領導地位?
本論文研究目的為了解日本企業的的管理制度。研究方法為個案研究，且就筆者所代理的精密曝光設備公司為研究對象，對個案深入訪談及研究。研究結果希望可以給日本企業或台灣企業參考或建議。

With the varied background of cultural and environments,Japanese-style management is quite different from Western countries. The major feature of Japanese management is Lifetime Employment System. It was sprouting in the beginning of Edo era, nowadays many Japanese companies have adopted this system. The basis of lifetime employment is one employee serves for only one company during his life. It makes Japan get many global leaderships and Made in Japan is also equaled to high quality.
Due to sucha loss of 20 years with changing external environments, Lifetime Employment System increases the salary burden of companies. Why do many companies still adopt Lifetime Employment System even the business impact is negative? Under intense changes of the external environments and the economy situation, what Japanese companies can adjust their business strategy and management model to maintain their long term competitiveness? For example, my working area is Japan precision equipment industry, most of technologies were transferred from Western countries. Why those companies can take the global leadership in a short time even started from imitating?
The purpose of this thesis is to understand the management system of Japanese companies with a specific precision exposure equipment company I am partnering with. The method is case-study with interviews and researches. The conclusion is expected to be a reference or suggestion to Japanese or Taiwanese companies.
