本研究是調查2001年台灣南灣及和美潮間帶藻類相，了解南灣及和美二地的藻類群聚的組成特性；二地的相似度介於0.12-0.27，南灣是一相似的群聚，和美是一相似的群聚。南灣的生物量(1016.8 gWWt．m-2)大於和美的生物量(709.50 gWWt．m-2)；南灣及和美，其所分析出來的海水營養鹽皆高DIN>1.0 μM、DIP >0.1μM，海水中的營養鹽應足夠支持藻類的生長。因此海水營養鹽不是藻類生長的限制因子。

This study is to investigate macroalgal community in the intertidal regions of Nanwan and Homei in 2001. Similarity between Nanwan and Homei is 0.12-0.27, indicating two different communities. Biomass in Nanwan (1016.8 gWWt．m-2) is higher than in Homei (709.50 gWWt．m-2). DIN is >1.0 μM and DIP is >0.1μM both in Nanwan and Homei. Thus, nutrition is not a limiting factor for the macroalgae growth.
