奇異海蟑螂 (Ligia exotica) 屬軟甲綱、等足目、海蟑螂科,主要分布於溫熱帶沿海地區,為世界廣泛種,在全台灣岩岸及河口皆能發現。海蟑螂是魚釣用的餌料,也被應用於醫療方面;但也是一些魚蝦病毒的傳染媒介,對水產養殖業常造成困擾。海蟑螂不能長時間待在水中,也不能完全脫離海水,加上海蟑螂特殊的生殖方式及無蜉蝣之幼期,使牠們的活動範圍更為侷限,因而可能造成台灣沿海的海蟑螂族群遺傳分化。本研究利用粒線體細胞色素氧化酶I序列,比較港口與沿海非港口的海蟑螂族群遺傳分化之現象。研究結果顯示,儘管港口與非港口的海蟑螂族群皆呈現高度分化,但港口族群間的遺傳距離卻比非港口族群間來得近,而且不同港口也有發現相同的基因型,間接推論海蟑螂可以透過船運擴散至其他地方。
Abstract
Ligia exotica is a widespread sea slater species distributing over tropical and subtropical zone. It is often found around rocky coasts and estuaries of Taiwan, used as fishing bait as well as for medical treatment. However, it is also a transmitter of some diseases of fish or shrimp. An understanding of its ecology and behavior can benefit the aquaculture industry. Sea slaters do not inhabit in water but have a specific mode of reproduction, for example, there is no planktonic larval stage. Their ranges of activity were quite restricted, and hence populations of sea slaters may differentiate genetically. The study aims to investigate whether there exists any difference between populations inhibiting harbors, where with possible dispersal of these organisms by ships, and non-harbors, without such dispersal. The results revealed high degree of differentiation within both harbor and non-harbor populations, but the genetic distances of populations between harbors were obviously lower than those between non-harbors. In additions, same haplotypes were also discovered among different harbors. The results suggest that L. exotica dispersed to other places by shipping transportation.
