福壽螺(Pomacea canaliculata)從1980年引進台灣之後,其分佈遍及臺灣全島並延伸至離島,但梯形福壽螺(Pomacea scalaris)僅分佈於高雄及屏東一帶,除了地理分佈上的差異,目前對於梯形福壽螺的相關探討很少,因此,本論文進行福壽螺及梯形福壽螺的成長與攝食之比較。結果顯示梯形福壽螺受精卵所需的孵化時間(10.4±1.3天)較梯形福壽螺(12.2±2.3天)短,且福壽螺剛孵化的幼螺體型較小,而福壽螺的成長率較高,約兩星期後兩物種成長出現明顯差異,孵化後75日之成長方程式,福壽螺為 y = 0.29x + 1.09 (p < 0.001),梯形福壽螺為 y = 0.16x + 1.68 (p < 0.001);攝食消化構造的比較發現,福壽螺的顎片、齒舌、中間齒、與胃均明顯大於梯形福壽螺,但腸道長度兩物種無顯著差異;食物通過福壽螺消化道的時間(1.4±0.7天)較梯形福壽螺(2.9±0.7天)短,且福壽螺之每日近似消化率(AD,approximate digestibility) (44.41±24.02%)較高;在胃內含物與排遺物的分析發現,兩物種食性差異不大,唯福壽螺的攝食量較多,而梯形福壽螺食物中含有較多的石頭,碳氮穩定同位素分析發現,兩物種的δ13C值與δ15N值差異不大,表示兩物種食物來源與營養階層相近,此結果和胃內含物與排遺物分析相呼應;但在穩定同位素分析亦發現,屏東九如及萬巒五溝水地點間的δ13C值與δ15N值均有顯著差異,表示兩地點的攝食環境有差別。雖然福壽螺與梯形福壽螺均為外來種,但福壽螺在成長與攝食上的優勢,可能是造成其擴張能力較梯形福壽螺強的重要原因之一。
Abstract
The distribution of apple snail Pomacea canaliculata is islandwide but Pomacea scalaris is only found in southern Taiwan. In order to gain more information on the not well-known invasive species of P. scalaris, the growth and feeding of P. canaliculata and P. scalaris were studied. The hatching period of P. canaliculata (10.4±1.3 days) was shorter than that of P. scalaris (12.2±2.3 days). And, the hatching size of P. canaliculata was also smaller. Two weeks after hatching, a significant higher growth rate in P. canaliculata had been found. The 75-day growth equations for P. canaliculata and P. scalaris were y = 0.29x + 1.09 (p < 0.001) and y = 0.16x + 1.68 (p < 0.001), respectively. Feeding structures of mandible, radulae, central tooth and stomach in P. canaliculata were larger than that of P. scalaris. But, there was no significant difference in the length of gut between the two species. Food passing time in P. canaliculata (1.4±0.7 days) was less than that of P. scalaris (2.9±0.7 days). And, the approximate digestibility per day of P. canaliculata (44.41±24.02%) was higher than that of P. scalaris. Through the analyses of δ13C, δ15N, stomach content and feces, it is known that they have the same trophic level with similar food sources. Additionally, the values of δ13C and δ15N were significantly different between sites of JiouRu and Wugou-shui, Pingtung. In other words, the feeding environments were different between the two sites. Based on the results, it is concluded that the superiority of growth and feeding performance in P. canaliculata is important in shaping its wide distribution in Taiwan.
